INTRO TO AYURVEDA

with Zaidy Charron

Friday, February 6 | 6:00–9:30 PM | Sandhya Yoga

$45

Ayurveda offers a cyclical framework for understanding the natural rhythms that shape our bodies, minds, and practices. In this introductory workshop, yoga teachers will explore the foundational principles of Ayurveda with an emphasis on seasonal awareness, elemental balance, and how cycles—daily, seasonal, and life-stage—express themselves uniquely in each individual. Together, we’ll study the doshas and elements as living patterns rather than fixed types, learning how to recognize tendencies that shift with climate, time of year, and internal state. This lens supports more skillful choices in practice: when to stabilize, when to build heat, when to soften, and when to conserve. The workshop focuses on applying Ayurvedic principles to yoga teaching—supporting teachers in choosing appropriate practices, pacing, and emphasis for themselves and their students based on season, environment, and constitution. Rather than prescribing formulas, Ayurveda becomes a way of refining perception and cultivating responsiveness in teaching. No prior experience with Ayurveda is required.
