COUPLES ABHYANGA

Zaidy Charrón and Matthew Sabatino

Sunday, February 15 | 7:30–9:30 PM | @ Sandhya Yoga

$40

Ayurvedic practitioners Zaidy Charrón and Matthew Sabatino for a nourishing evening dedicated to the art of partner abhyanga—the traditional Ayurvedic practice of full-body oil massage. In this two-hour experiential workshop, partners will learn how to offer and receive abhyanga as a ritual of care, presence, and connection. Guided step by step, you’ll explore the use of warm herbal oils and marma points (vital energy centers of the body) to calm the nervous system, soften muscle tension, and support the free flow of energy through both physical and subtle channels.

Abhyanga is known to ground the body, settle the mind, improve circulation, digestion, and sleep, and restore a sense of safety and ease. When practiced with a partner, it becomes a powerful way to cultivate trust, deepen intimacy, and strengthen subtle bonds through intentional touch. This workshop is designed for partners of all kinds—romantic partners, friends, or loved ones—who wish to learn a meaningful, therapeutic practice they can bring into their home. No prior massage or Ayurvedic experience is required. All bodies are welcome. Touch is taught with respect, consent, and clear guidance throughout the evening.

About the Instructors:

Zaidy Charrón is a dedicated artist of embodiment, a Boricua medicine woman, fire keeper, student, and facilitator based in Denver, Colorado. Her passion lies in sharing her heart’s medicine through various modalities such as Ayurveda, movement alchemy, yoga, sacred songs, herbalism, meditation, breathwork, and abuela wisdom. Zaidy is a graduate of Alandi Ayurveda Gurukula in Boulder, CO. She is a Master Ayurvedic Practitioner and a candidate to become an Ayurvedic Doctor Level Certified by NAMA. With over 4000 hours of educational and clinical experience, she offers healing through lifestyle counseling, proper nutrition, herbalism, yoga, movement therapy, breathwork, meditation, and spiritual practices. As a devoted practitioner of movement, Zaidy brings a background in Ashtanga Yoga, Prana Vinyasa, and Movement Culture to her work. She is both a student and teacher of Prana Vinyasa, a practice rooted in the Krishnamacharyan perspective, modern somatics, Tantra, and Ayurveda. In her role as a movement facilitator, Zaidy’s soulful intention is to guide practitioners back into intimate union with the awakened heart.

Matthew Sabatino is a Master Ayurvedic Practitioner, yoga teacher, chef, forager, and lifelong student of Earth’s wisdom traditions. With more than two decades of experience in both the kitchen and the wild, Matthew brings a rare blend of clinical precision, culinary devotion, and deep ecological awareness to his work. A graduate of the Alandi Ashram Gurukula's 4-year Ayurvedic Doctor program, Matthew specializes in pulse reading (nadi pariksha), using this ancient diagnostic art to uncover the subtle imbalances within the doshas, dhatus, and inner vital essences—ojas, tejas, and prana. His clinical approach draws from Ayurveda as well as Sowa Rigpa, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and herbal lineages of the Americas. He co-founded Oso Botanicals with the intention of incorporating traditional healing wisdom with modern research and understanding to create products that impact people’s lives. He insists on looking at the impact every ingredient used has on the environment, and on crafting medicine from the heart.
